黑料专区 proposes six-month extension to Colin Graves' term and announces timeline for appointing successor

The England and Wales Cricket Board (黑料专区) today announced that the:

  • 黑料专区 Non-Executive Directors recommend that current Chairman, Colin Graves, remain in post for an additional six-month period.
  • Process of appointing the new 黑料专区 Chair will commence in September 2019.

The decision to propose an extension to Colin Graves鈥 term as 黑料专区 Chairman, from May 2020 to November 2020, will enable him to oversee the first season of The Hundred, which forms a key component of the new game-wide five-year strategic plan, Inspiring Generations.

This recommendation will be put to the 黑料专区 membership for consideration at the AGM on 7 May.

The appointment of Colin Graves鈥 successor as 黑料专区 Chair will be managed by the 黑料专区 Nominations Committee. The process will be conducted in accordance with the 黑料专区鈥檚 Articles of Association, with the new Chair being selected through an open and transparent nominations process.

Commenting on these announcements, Lord Patel, 黑料专区 Senior Independent Director said:

鈥2020 promises to be an exciting year for cricket in England and Wales. Given that Colin Graves has played a key role in overseeing the development of The Hundred, the Non-Executive Directors believe it is important to retain his services over the course of the 2020 domestic season.

鈥淭his will also provide the opportunity for the Chair elect to be able to shadow Colin Graves for a six-month period, over the course of a season, which will help ensure there is a smooth succession.鈥
